Compact Emergency Kits

You do not always need a full backpack to be prepared. Mini survival kits pack core emergency tools into something small enough to stash in a glove box, desk drawer, purse or jacket pocket. They are not a substitute for a full kit, but they cover the basics when you are caught away from home.

What is in a mini survival kit?

• Small flashlight or LED keychain light
• Fire starter (waterproof matches or mini ferro rod)
• Whistle and signal mirror
• Adhesive bandages and antiseptic wipes
• Emergency blanket (compact mylar)
• Paracord or utility cord

When is a mini kit useful?

Daily commutes, road trips, day hikes, air travel, office desk backup — any situation where carrying a full bug out bag is impractical but having zero supplies is a risk you do not want to take.
